Rain On Me

An Alt-Country 2-step, exclusively here on our website for our peeps as we explore how we are gonna release it to the masses. Here’s how the song came about: In mid-February of 2026, I was humming a tune for a few days, constantly singing the phrase, "don't rain on me." To nail down the melody and chords, I finally plunked it out on the piano and had Steve play it through. The lyrics came to me over the course of a week, undergoing multiple rewrites. I considered a line “Don’t rain on me – that’s my boundary,” but those words did not resonate for the final version. I wanted the entire song to be super relatable. Steve also recorded multiple keyboard stems from Mixcraft at his workstation—beyond the piano, he gave the track more flavour with the beautiful viola and soft pedal steel parts. That’s when the real work began, because I knew I wanted to voice this song in my own imperfect way, sounding a teeny bit vulnerable. Having spent hours rehearsing the vocals, allowing the melody and harmonies to naturally evolve and blend, I took it to The Vault in Kelowna to record, mix and master this version.
